Tracking site visitors. While a user is at quartetrecords.com we have the facility to track his or her movements around the site. This is so we can see how people navigate through the site and can therefore improve navigation and site design.

Information we collect about users whilst they are at quartetrecords.com is as follows:

  • IP Address and domain: We cannot link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. The domain (.com) is helpful to us as we can see what countries visitors are coming from.
  • The pages on our site you visit: We track every page that you visit whilst on our site. This is so we can make improvements to our site design.
  • The web browser that is being used: We receive information about the web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera etc.) that is being used.
  • Operating system: We receive information about the operating system (PC, Apple Macintosh, Linux etc.) that is being used.
  • How they got to com: We receive information regarding what link was clicked (on another website) that brought the visitor to quartetrecords.com. We cannot see the last page you were at if you just typed our web address directly into your browser and we certainly can’t see anything else you may have been looking at on your computer.

Damaged goods. We’re committed to ensuring that your CDs and records are received in the best possible condition. All packages we send are insured, and we will gladly process a claim for any damage that is large enough to cause a significant change in the playability or collectability of an item. Claims for these problems include broken records, cracked CDs, warped records, and severely ripped or folded record covers.

Shipping wear and tear. Please note that when shipping goods to you, some slight wear might occasionally occur during shipping. This sort of wear is not something we’re happy with, but is sometimes an inevitable fact of shipping items, and unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it. Wear of this nature includes: a cracked hinge or ‘tooth’ on a CD jewel case, slightly crinkled corners on record covers and other small cosmetic issues.

All the CDs and records we stock are in perfect condition prior to shipping. Sometimes when we receive goods from our suppliers, they receive minor cosmetic damage and there’s not much that can be done to rectify the issue. We will not dispatch any items to you that we consider damaged. We package all orders as securely as possible, but please be aware that even with the secure and sturdy packaging we use, some small cosmetic damage might occur as part of the shipping process.

Claiming for damaged goods. We’ll happily replace any items that experience major defects from shipping, but we cannot do so for items that only experience small cosmetic ones.

If you receive items from us that have been overtly damaged by the shipping process. please contact us as soon as possible and we will begin a claim with the postal service. Please be aware that claims for damaged goods can take anything up to 2 months.

Lost parcels. Sometimes there are delays with Spain and worldwide delivery systems. These delays are out of our control so if you haven’t received your order within the times mentioned here then please be patient. If you haven’t received your items 4 weeks after placing your order, then contact us and we will begin a claim with our carriers for compensation of a lost parcel.

All claims by customers for lost parcels will be dealt with on an individual case-by-case basis to help us fight fraudulent claims.

Returns. If you receive an item that is damaged, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a return and replacement.

Cancellations. Once the order has been processed cancellations are not allowed.

PayPal. PayPal uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to keep your information safe.

When you send a payment using PayPal, Quartet Records does not receive your credit card or bank account details.

PayPal operates secure servers that use the highest level of internet security commercially available (Secure Socket Layer with an encryption key length of 128-bits).

Once your information reaches PayPal, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. PayPal’s servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers.

In effect, what actually happens is that you are paying PayPal and then PayPal passes the funds to us. All we receive is your order details and delivery address.
